All websites hosted on Templ (except for staging sites) are automatically backed up daily. A backup includes WordPress files as well as the database. If you wish to perform a manual backup, follow the instructions below:
Step-by-step guide to creating a manual mackup
You can navigate to the page where you create backups in the Templ panel via two different paths:
Path 1
Click on Backups in the left menu.
Select the website you wish to manually backup.
Below the list of existing backups, click Create Backup.
Path 2
Click on Websites in the left menu.
Select the website you wish to manually backup.
Click on the Backups menu item.
Click Create Backup.
Naming and storing your backup
After choosing either path, you will be directed to a page where you can name your backup. Select a name that you will easily recognize in the future.
Backup Storage Options:
Store on remote server: Opt for this to store the backup on a separate server. This option does not count towards your disk space usage. It does however count towards your monthly data transfer to create or restore a remote backup.
Finalizing the backup
After entering the backup details, click Continue to complete the process.
When the backup has been completed you will get a message and can download the backup to your computer by clicking the download link.
Note: Automatic remote backups are retained for 30 days. Manual remote backups are retained for 90 days.
